113 How to grow your abundance mindset

Are you threatened by challenges or invigorated by them? Your answer may determine whether you have an abundance or a poverty mindset. In this episode, we talk about how to cultivate a mindset of abundance.

How to grow your abundance mindset

This week’s Inspire Me quote is from Winston Churchill:

“The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees opportunity in every difficulty.”

In this episode, Leary and Armin talk about what an abundance mindset is, how to know if you have one or not, and its benefits. They offer several suggestions on how to grow an abundance mindset:

  1. Affirm that what you have is enough.
  2. Get with others who will inspire you in your vision and the value of it.
  3. Be a cheerleader or a spotlight for someone else.

Quotes from the show:

  • “An abundance mindset is a bias, or a choice you might have, to see an opportunity and growth rather than scarcity and loss—especially when confronting challenges.” —Leary
  • “An abundance mindset… is more about seeing yourself as someone who has something valuable to offer to the world.” —Leary
  • “We don’t have an abundant mindset that comes from us. It comes from another source—the source where True Abundance comes from. That’s really what God does: He provides all that we need in order to do the next act of obedience.” —Leary
  • “I have all that I need to do the next thing.” —Leary
  • “An abundance mindset helps us have less stress and anxiety. When we are able to see the world as someplace that has more than enough for [us], we have a way of just letting go of the anxiety of needing to get more.” —Leary
  • “In an abundance mindset, you see competitors as having value. They can validate a market.” —Leary
  • “The risk is always worth it.” —Armin
  • “How often do we shut down other people and relationship with them because we feel threatened by them? All that does—that threat—is just creating stress of us. Get rid of that stress!” —Leary
  • “It’s this win-lose kind of thinking that’s evidence of a poverty mindset.” —Leary
  • “You can’t afford not to [invest in others].” —Armin

  1. I like this quote the best “He provides all that we need in order to do the next act of obedience.”

It makes me realize that abundance isn’t about fulfilling what I want or what I think is missing from my life. It’s about moving resources in order to do the ‘next act of obedience’ whatever that maybe.

I like the idea of getting together with other people who share the same vision, but I don’t find many people around me that think in the way that I do. Maybe I have to do deeper digging to find a community that I can join and share the vision of abundance.

    • Hi Deny. Thanks for listening and for your comment. I’d encourage you to keep searching for that visioning community. It’s not easy but so rewarding when you find it. Maybe God would even have you start one! 🙂
